Join the fun.Over the years, we've had so many questions from people looking for a FIRST Lego League team to join. Unfortunately, because of the nature of the program, it rarely happens that a team advertises for a new member. So how do you get involved? Here's Tech-No-Logic's handy guide on how to jump in to the best experience of your life!

What's FIRST LEGO League?FIRST LEGO League challenges kids to think like scientists and engineers. Teams will choose and solve a real-world problem in the Project. They will also build, test, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO® MINDSTORMS® technology to solve a set of missions in the Robot Game. But most importantly, throughout their experience, teams will operate under the FIRST signature set of Core Values, celebrating discovery, teamwork, and Gracious Professionalism®.
Every year, FIRST LEGO League releases a Challenge, which is based on a real-world scientific topic. Each Challenge has three parts: the Robot Game, the Project, and the Core Values.

Start a TeamSchools sometimes have programs. Ask around! If not your school, check with other schools in your district, or neighboring districts.
You need a corner to set up a table about the size of a piece of plywood, and a regular time to meet. Plan on two times per week to start with.
You'll definitely want to learn to build and program your EV3. The absolute, best way to do that is through a website built and maintained by two young FLL students. Start with the beginner lessons, and go right on through!
Ask members about their hobbies and abilities. Everyone can do something creative in the team, even starting from a poster.

Have fun!Learning together is the best part. Having fun in the process is even better! Get to know your teammates, share moments with them and make new friends. FLL is all about friendly competition and STEM learning.
It will be one of those experiences you will remember for your whole life!
