Simple One-Way Gate

A very useful contraption in FLL is the one-way gate. It allows loops to get in but not out. In this way you can passively take objects from the field, instead of building some sort of mechanism to lift or grab them.

Trigger Release Mechanisms

|
Another useful contraption in FLL is this kind of mechanisms, used for dumping, grabbing, shooting or lifting things. They can move objects around without the need of motors. The main part is an elastic band, blocked by a pin that releases when the trigger is pushed.
